7 Ways ChatGPT can Help Content Creators

For many of us, the most time-consuming task is content creation. I know how frustrating it can be to spend hours researching, writing, and editing, only to have your work come out less than perfect. Here are the tips I’ve come up for working with ChatGPT and Bing (which is powered by the same Large Language Model.)

1. Help you with research. Both can access and process information from the live Internet through their search engine architecture. They also claim to keep responses consistent with these search results. This feature can save you a lot of time and effort when you’re trying to find information about your subject.

2. Help you with basic writing tasks. Both can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content (poem, short story, social media post, etc.), and answer your questions in an informative way. You can upload your lesson content and ask the bot to write a review quiz. This can free up your time to focus on more strategic tasks or client engagement.

3. Help you with editing and proofreading. Both can identify grammar errors, spelling mistakes, and other errors in your writing. This can help you to produce high-quality writing that is free of errors.

4. If your organization has a documented style guide you must follow, you can ask the bot to check your work for any deviations from the required style. (You might be surprised by how many former “rules” are now generally considered up for debate. Comma use and bullet formatting are two that each of my clients seems to see a bit differently.)

5. Help you to brainstorm ideas. If you’re stuck on a fresh idea for an icebreaker, for example, you can ask the bot for suggestions.

6. Help you organize your thoughts, notes, and client requirements into a High Level Design document, by giving your disjointed information a structure that reflects the content and is easy to follow.

7. Help you to improve your writing style by suggesting alternative vocabulary, sentence structure, or tone of voice.
