6 Ways ChatGPT Can Save Teachers and Trainers Time

ChatGPT, a language model created by OpenAI, is helping educators save 10 to 40 hours a week. Here are the top use cases I’ve heard from my clients –

The first use case is for generating lesson plans. ChatGPT can be used to generate ideas for lesson plans, research materials, and even create outlines for teachers to fill in. This can save teachers time and help them focus on other aspects of teaching, such as facilitating discussions or providing additional support to students.

The second use case is for grading. ChatGPT can assist in grading assignments, particularly those with objective answers such as multiple-choice questions. This can help teachers save time and provides students with immediate feedback.

The third use case is for generating questions. ChatGPT can create questions that align with specific learning objectives and help teachers develop quizzes and tests more efficiently.

The fourth use case is for providing feedback. ChatGPT can provide feedback on student writing, suggesting improvements and identifying areas where students may need additional support.

The fifth use case is for personalized learning. ChatGPT can create customized learning plans for individual students based on their strengths, weaknesses, and learning preferences. This can help teachers provide more targeted support and help students achieve their goals.

The sixth use case is for professional development. ChatGPT can suggest resources and materials for teachers to use in their own professional development, helping them stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in education.

While there are still many open questions about the appropriate use of ChatGPT and similar models, many are already streamlining their workload, and providing more personalized support to their students. In addition, there is a flood of more targeted tools that will do many of the same things that I’ve listed here for ChatGPT. In fact, these tools are often running GPT to produce their results. I’m working on a resource for you that will help you sort through the noise around all these tools and find a few that could really make a difference for you, so keep checking this blog and my LinkedIn feed for more information.

In the meantime, why not give ChatGPT or some other AI-driven tool a try? You may discover something that saves you time, and you’ll be building your AI acumen along the way.
