Psychology and Neuroscience Aren’t Competing – They’re Converging
Dr. David Webb is a member of the British Psychological Society and of the 100 most followed psychologists and neuroscientists on Twitter. A published author, he wrote The Psychology Student Guide in 2012 and The Incredibly Interesting Psychology Book in 2013. His book, On This Day in Psychology was published in March 2015 and provides daily insights into the history of the science of human behavior.
If you’re interested in figuring out human behavior, check out his What is Psychology page. If you’re looking for quality information and resources on a particular branch of psychology, head over to the Types of Psychology section of the website. If you want something fascinating to read, you’ll love this collection of Psychology Articles by leading academics and researchers. I also enjoy his collection of classic, historical works by the giants in our field, including my personal favorite, Hermann Ebbinghaus. I just spent an enjoyable couple of hours with the surprising “Superstition in the Pigeon,” by B.F. Skinner. It fit well with much of the work being done today on animal intelligence in neuroscience, including this work on crows.
David and I found each other in cyberspace a few months ago and realized how much Psychology and Neuroscience have in common. In fact, many professionals in both fields see these disciplines as two complementary lenses through which we learn more about the human mind. David interviews leading experts in psychology on his site, so it was quite an honor when he invited me to join his elite group of guests. Catch our interview here.
