There are many tools for building eLearning, but our classic interactions can seem a bit stale to the modern learner in the era of YouTube and Tik Tok. In this hands-on workshop, you will build an eLearning course that prompts, challenges, and supports the learner through a conversational chatbot, using free software and the planning tools provided in the workshop.
You will learn the basics of easy-to-use software that allows you to create eLearning with personality, with no coding required. You’ll come away with a functioning bot that:
“¢ Presents a consistent “personality” to increase engagement and retention
“¢ Responds to learner questions to create a learner-centric path through the content
“¢ Challenges the learner with a combination of fact-based and reflective questions to deepen the learner experience
“¢ Recommends additional resources
“¢ Integrates with your LMS to provide meaningful data on learner and bot behavior
In this session, you will learn:
“¢ How the human brain responds to a chatbot
“¢ How to plan an educational conversation with a bot
“¢ How to test and improve the logical flow of the chatbot
“¢ How to enhance chatbot replies with existing assets
“¢ How to integrate your course into an LMS to track user behavior, completion, and success rates
Throughout the online workshop, you will follow a step-by-step process to build a functioning course using the content and assets provided, using the files and workflow provided. The files are yours to keep after the workshop, so you’ll be able to use it as a template for future development on any sort of subject.
Special bonus: Included with your workshop is a copy of AI in Talent Development: Capitalize on the AI Revolution to Transform the Way You Work, Learn, and Live, by ATD author and speaker, Margie Meacham.
Participant technology requirements:
“¢ A laptop or computer with Internet access.
Facilitator Margie Meacham
Author and Learning Consultant Margie Meacham first became interested in helping people learn when she was a little girl struggling with learning to learn how to read. While she didn’t discover it until much later, Margie is dyslexic and was finding it hard to keep up with her classmates. Eventually, she figured out how her mind worked and graduated high school as her class valedictorian and summa cum laude from her Bachelor and Master’s level programs.
Today, she teaches learning professionals how to apply the latest discoveries from the converging fields of neuroscience and artificial intelligence. Margie is the author of AI in Talent Development: Capitalize on the AI Revolution to Transform the Way You Work, Learn, and Live, Brain Matters: How to help anyone learn anything using neuroscience and The Brain Matters Coloring Book.

Brain Matters: How to Help Anyone Learn Anything Using Neuroscience
If you had the chance to be with DaVinci, Galileo, or Curie at their greatest moment of discovery, would you take it?
If you said “yes,” then you’re in luck. The human race is embarking on a great adventure–discovering how the brain works by watching it in the process of cognition. Neuroscientists are starting to unlock the code that makes the brain work, thus enabling them to give educators, teachers, corporate trainers, and mentors new tools to help people learn.
AI in Talent Development
In AI in Talent Development, Margie Meacham describes the benefits, uses, and risks of AI technology and offers practical tools to strengthen and enhance learning and performance programs.
In layman’s terms, Meacham demonstrates how we can free time for ourselves by employing a useful robot “assistant,” create a chatbot for specific tasks (such as a new manager bot, a sales coach bot, or new employee onboarding bot), and build personalized coaching tools from AI-processed big data. She concludes each of the six chapters with helpful tips and includes a resource guide with planning tools, templates, and worksheets.
Margie is the Chief Freedom Officer of Learningtogo and a recognized leader in the application of neuroscience and artificial intelligence to enhance learning and performance. She is a recipient of the 100 Most Innovative in Learning award and a frequent keynote speaker at industry conferences. She is a founding member of The Brain Ladies, a consortium of leading experts in applied cognitive science. Her neuroscience and AI blog was recently recognized as a Top Blog by Feedspot.
You can connect with Margie on LinkedIn and Twitter or get in touch via email.
