The Meacham-Miley-Smith Model™ takes a fresh look at ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) based on the metaphor of a “spoke and wheel” with Evaluation in the middle. The designer begins each project by evaluating any work that has gone before. The result of the evaluation tells us where we need to go next on the wheel. As each phase is finished, we return to the “Evaluate” node to maintain a high level of quality control and avoid costly rework.

This presentation was originally given at the Society for Applied Learning Technology (SALT) in February, 2008.
