Learningtogo Blog Receives Global Recognition from Feedspot
Thanks to the support of my readers, this blog is now one of the Top Neuroscience Blogs on the Internet, according to Feedspot. The service curates thousands of blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels and websites based on the value of their content and the engagement that content generates across the Internet. I want to thank all my readers for helping to make this blog so popular and influential. When I look at the other members of the list, I’m humbled and honored to be among them.
The reward pathway
The reward circuit releases a neurotransmitter called dopamine. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that send information between neurons. In the case of dopamine, it stimulates pleasurable feelings and facilitates memories in the brain’s hippocampus so you can repeat the behaviors that give you so much pleasure. Dopamine is your brain’s way of telling you that you’re doing something that supports your survival. Because it feels so wonderful, you’re inspired to continue the behavior. When recognition comes “out of the blue” like this, it really validates all the hard work and late nights. I’m sure the reward pathway in my brain was firing when I read this email from Anuj Agarwal, the Founder of Feedspot:
